Protecting Idaho Energy and Water:

Colton will work to preserve Idaho’s hydroelectric energy sector from those seeking to tear down the snake river dams. Idaho is leading the nation in clean energy production, with 60% of our power coming from hydroelectric, sadly a number of extremists, including the Oregon state government, are engaged in a legal battle to tear down our dams to accommodate salmon spawning. If the radicals are successful, such a ruling will cost jobs, drain water reserves, drive Idaho toward foreign fossil fuels dependence, and potentially double the electric bills for our homes. Colton opposes these efforts and will fight to preserve Idaho’s energy and water resources!

Defending Life:

Colton is committed to advancing the Pro-Life cause and defending every single child from the violence of abortion. As a Christian, Colton believes that life begins at conception, and that preborn babies are human beings made in the image of God and deserving of our protection. Sadly, Colton’s opponents do not share his commitment as Colton is the only 100% Pro-Life Candidate in the race. Colton will continue to champion the sanctity of life in Boise by advancing pro-adoption policies, requiring child support to start before birth to help pregnant mothers, opposing taxpayer funding for abortion, and continuing to push legislation to enshrine the Right to Life in our state.

Opposing Federal Overreach:

The founders envisioned a nation free from the overreach of an oppressive federal government. That is why they enshrined the 10th Amendment into the Constitution. Tragically, our state has doubled its dependence on federal dollars in the last decade. These dollars come with federal regulations that our politicians implement on behalf of the bureaucrats. 62% of our state's land is federally owned and controlled, and citizens have little redress to oppose this federal overreach. As a firm believer in the 10th Amendment, Colton is committed to ending our state’s dependence on federal dollars, returning our lands to We the People, and opposing all forms of federal overreach.

Reducing Property Taxes:

Colton has called to deliver a permanent property tax cut to Idahoans by lowering the maximum rate of annual tax increase set by the legislature and requiring efficiency with public funds from municipalities and taxing districts. Colton also supports expanding and increasing the homeowners exemption. Currently property owners are paying painfully high sums just to keep a roof over their head and high taxes also harm tenants, increasing the rate of rent. With the rising cost of rent young people are being priced out of home ownership. Now is the time to identify and eliminate government waste.

Upholding His Oath

As a veteran, Colton has taken an oath to uphold the Constitution. As your next Legislator he will stand as a staunch defender of your Constitutional rights and liberties. Government intrusion in our businesses and daily lives is unacceptable. Colton is also fervently committed to protecting the 2nd amendment right to keep an bear arms. If elected he will oppose any current or future restrictions on your rights.

Family Values:

The foundational unit of our society is the family. As a husband and father Colton is committed to protecting these values by fighting for parental rights, educational choice, and the sanctity of marriage. Colton believes that parents are best suited to raise and guide the upbringing of their children and will continue to represent Idaho Values in Boise if given the privilege to serve in the Legislature.
